Taranis, the homosexual Raijin, was known to bed many women before she became a student at the Schola Draíochta. However she only had a few real relationships, one of which was with the Savitr woman called Aveldro Olwen. Aveldro is the daughter of a chieftain that was sent to the University of Manannán to learn and seek benefits for the poor Morini tribe. It was at University that Olwen and Taranis met and had a loving relationship that taught Taranis to accept those very different from herself and that which her life experiences have taught her.

Race

The world of Dagda is populated by six sentient subspecies, the Raijin, Ryujin, Fujin, Svarog, Mani and Savitr. The final subspecies are the most under-developed of the six, roaming across the southern continent in small individual tribes that often know starvation and illness. The Savitr are similar in aesthetics to the other subspecies of Dagda, elongated ears, hairless and a tail but their skin is white and even somewhat translucent in places. They are powerless, though it is speculated by Fujin scientists that the Savitr once held the power of light.
Homeworld

The world of Dagda is a small Terran planet, consisting of oceans, great continents and varied forms of flora and fauna. It holds several sentient subspecies that all share a common ancestor, they are the Raijin, Fujin, Ryujin, Savitr, Mani and Svarog, each separated by racial defined boundaries and countries. The three most prominent subspecies reside on the northern bound continent and minor islands, whilst the others live on the gold rich southern continent, which has a much more inhospitable climate and terrain.

Personality
Olwen is a woman of few words, but those words are always keen, precise and intelligent when said. Born as the daughter of a chieftain for the Morini tribe, Olwen was raised with the specific purpose of being sent to the University of Manannán. In this respect she was taught to be perceptive, intuitive and keen to listen and learn. She enjoys writing things and is often found making lists, whether they be for shopping or to-dos or something greater. Along with this intelligentsian nature, Olwen has a degree of sensuality about her, an allure that managed to attract and keep a hold, even, of the precocious Taranis, a Raijin girl known for her insatiable sexual appetite.
Along with the academic side of Olwen comes the philosophic. She believes in equality and unity, but also that there is no sense or point or reason to existence. It is what you make it. A person's life is merely a series of events and faces that can be strung together in a chronological order. In this she can seem cold, calculated and realistic, yet she is also hopeful and an idealist. She believes that the people of Dagda can make their own meaning of existence.
Powers

The Savitr have no powers, unlike many other Dagdan subspecies. Fujin scientists believe that the Savitr once had power over light due to biological characteristics. They are, however, very agile and have keen, natural reflexes that could out-strip any standard human.

Southern State
- Main article: Southern State
The southern subspecies are not recognised by the northern sentients as having countries. In fact the Savitr are free-roaming and move according to the position of 'the herd', which are migratory buffalo. Only the Mani are considered to be in possession of territory, that being the Mani Territory. The Svarog ought to also be considered land-holders as they are also stationary, taking up residence on the fertile volcano, however their borders are undefined and taken for granted by the Hotei species.
Early Life
Aveldro Olwen was born on the Plains of Eostre, as with most Savitr. She was born the eldest of the chieftain's children in the Morini tribe. When Aveldro was two years old, the University of Manannán, the only university in the whole of Dagda that accepted people of all subspecies, the chieftain began to have his only daughter groomed for the role of student. The University was an attempt at greater unity by the Ryujin people, going so far as to sponsor the attendance of certain students from the impoverished subspecies that lived on the southern continent of Eostre.
Olwen was not the eldest of the chieftains children, however. When a chieftain assumes the role, all of his previous children are still considered to be 'normal' Savitr and only the children that follow his assuming of the role can be considered as being of important status. In this Olwen's tutelage was left to her two elder sisters, who proved to be jealous. These sisters would purposefully lead the young Aveldro into troublesome situations, after which she would be harshly scolded by her father who expected great things from her. Fortunately the sisters did also prove to be good teachers and taught Olwen how to learn.
The University of Manannán
When Olwen was twelve, the age at which Savitr reach adulthood, she was shipped off Eostre and over to the Isles of Ryu, the country belonging to the Ryujin and the location of the University. Olwen found that she enjoyed her classes and learning so much about the world that she never knew before. However her studies also included art and literature, things that are rarely used in Savitr society. Olwen became something of a poet and a philosopher whilst she was in attendance of the school, and was soon one of the teachers' favourites.
During her second year the thirteen year-old, which is the equivalent age of twenty by human standards, Olwen met the twelve year-old Taranis. Taranis was a special case Raijin that couldn't control her electrical powers, nor make use of the mental abilities hidden within her mind. Taranis had just begun her first-year of University and had already proven to be more than a little promiscuous. Olwen had been in Taranis' sights for some time, as the Raijin saw the Savitr as some thing exotic. However it proved to be Olwen that got the upper-hand went their relationship blossomed. Olwen managed to keep the easily bored Taranis interested in her and in her mind. Taranis seemed to have been waiting for someone to try and open up her mind to new things. Their relationship lasted to the day that Taranis had to leave and move to the Schola Draíochta, a University in a world beyond the new portal technology that the Fujin scientists had discovered.
Olwen returned to the Morini tribe after finishing University and even now brings great fruits of wisdom to her people. It is probable that she will be the first female chieftain in all of Savitr history.

Taranis

Taranis is a yellow-skinned Raijin from the world of Dagda. She has powers over electricity as well as mental abilities, however she has little control over either of them. She is strong-willed and aggressive, which gets her into fights, arguments and dangerous situations. She is also sexually promiscuous and, combined with her aggressive nature, she is becoming a hazard for other female students.

Player Notes
Aveldro Olwen was made to add some variety to Taranis' history. I knew that the minor subspecies of Dagda were important to Taranis' story, but I never had a real link until I created Olwen. She is important because she teaches Taranis to be accepting of other kinds of people outside of her own private experience.
