Dechtine Engres is a Ryujin woman from the planet of Dagda. She, like other Ryujin, has power over water and is an intelligent, though lazy, woman. She attended the University of Manannán where she met the promiscuous Raijin named Taranis.

Race

The Ryujin are a humanoid species from the planet Dagda, which they share with two other main subspecies, Raijin and Fujin. Ryujin have long tendrils in place of head-hair and they have thick long tails to help them with balance and swimming. The Ryujin age faster than most sentient species, a thirteen-year-old may appear more like a twenty-year-old human. They live mostly in underwater cities and are suspicious of the Fujin and Raijin subspecies of Dagda.
Homeworld

The world of Dagda is a small Terran planet, consisting of oceans, great continents and varied forms of flora and fauna. It holds several sentient subspecies that all share a common ancestor, they are the Raijin, Fujin, Ryujin, Savitr, Mani and Svarog, each separated by racial defined boundaries and countries. The three most prominent subspecies reside on the northern bound continent and minor islands, whilst the others live on the gold rich southern continent, which has a much more inhospitable climate and terrain.

Personality
Dechtine Engres is a product of the modern era. Even within the world of the Ryujin, who are often very traditional and set in their ways, have raised a generation of children that are without the wants or hardships of the previous era. They know regular meals, accessible entertainment and culture. Engres is intelligent and well-educated, however with such a great mind comes boredom and complacency. Unable to put her mind to good use, Engres has little to occupy herself beyond the pointless pursuits of drugs, sex and rock 'n' roll. She spends much of her time in a befuddled stupor, buying the readily available and completely legal Savitr moss (a substance that comes in a variety of fashions, some cause giddiness, some calmness, some hallucinations).
The Ryujin are slightly matriarchal, having equal rights but still having women in power over men, and so lesbianism is seen as an acceptable sexual orientation in Ryujin society. The University of Manannán, however, is dedicated to all subspecies of Dagda, most of which are more patriarchal and, whilst accepting different sexualities, are still uncomfortable with it and have fewer numbers embracing their true feelings. This has gotten Engres into a few troubles with foreign girls, except for one; Taranis.
Powers

Ryujin have powers over water. They can both produce and manipulate already existing water. Although the level of control over this power varies Ryujin to Ryujin, all of them are capable of utilising this power to some extent; unlike all other subspecies of Dagda who may have people unable to use their natural powers at all. So fine is the craft of the Ryujin, they can mould water into clothing. Although it is transparent, the flow and current of the water works for modesty. They don't need to maintain concentration upon the sole task of water manipulation to perform it, allowing them to keep their water clothes and focus their minds on other tasks. Even when sleeping, the mind continues to work on standard water manipulation tasks, including clothing. Unlike the Fujin and Raijin, Ryujin have no mental powers at all.

Lugh

The Ryujin do not have many cities built upon the land and when they are they tend to be quite small. The largest land-based city is Lugh, the new capital of the Islands of Rán. Originally the city of Tailtu was the capital city, however the government chose to make their capital more accessible to the foreign subspecies in a gesture of political openness. Great fountains pump water all throughout Lugh, creating great works of art such as towering manufactured waterfalls in amongst homes and offices.
Early Life
Dechtine Engres was born in the city of Lugh, which is an island above sea level. This is an unusual climate for a Ryujin to be born and bred in, especially when the family made so few trips back to underwater cities. Only the most wealthy of Ryujin live on the islands as it is a symbol of modernism and status. It is these island cities that foreigners are most likely to visit and so young Dechtine was raised in a world familiar with other subspecies, unlike many other Ryujin.
She was raised with every she could ask for and more. Given an excellent education, Dechtine was able to improve her vast capacity for knowledge. However as her knowledge increased her complacency grew. She knew she could live off her parents for the rest of her life and the urgency to make her own mark was shattered and dissolved by the willingness of her parents to pay for everything.
The University of Manannán
It was natural for Engres to attend University and the symbol of the modern era was the University of Manannán, the only university in the whole of Dagda that accepted students from all subspecies, including those from the southern continent of Eostre. It was at University that Engres discovered the pleasures of Savitr moss, which was actively passed around the lazier students, as well as the pleasures of sex and music. She spent the majority of her time stoned whilst in the company of a woman and listening to modern rock music.
However, she met Taranis. The Raijin was several years younger than herself, having joined the University a year early due to her being unable to control her powers. Taranis was also much more sexually promiscuous. Yet it took the rowdy Taranis to put Dechtine Engres back on course. Their relationship was prolonged, longer than any other for the both of them, and they kept one another in check whilst at University. However after a year and a half, it was time for Engres to leave University and return home. They parted on good terms and Engres moved back in with her parents where she still lives, jobless and high for most of her days.

Taranis

Taranis is a yellow-skinned Raijin from the world of Dagda. She has powers over electricity as well as mental abilities, however she has little control over either of them. She is strong-willed and aggressive, which gets her into fights, arguments and dangerous situations. She is also sexually promiscuous and, combined with her aggressive nature, she is becoming a hazard for other female students.

Player Notes
Dechtine Engres was created purely to add further history to Taranis. I do have some vague ideas for Taranis' 'future' that would include Dechtine, but for now she is merely additional spice for the tale of Taranis.
