The Observatory is a large circular room that peaks one of the Schola Draíochta's thirteen towers. It is the only dome on the building, which is specifically made of glass to allow ample view of the sky. A huge telescope exists within the room, modified by resident inventor Reimi Soulstar to allow for an unlikely amount of clarity and increased visual range. The room itself is used to teach Practical Astronomy, which teaches students the wonders of the universe, and the wonders of many other universes.

Description
The Observatory is a circular room that rises up to a domed roof. It is rather squat compared to other tower-based rooms, however this is to allow its occupants to be as close to the glass dome as possible. The glass dome itself can be retracted to allow for a completely open-roofed room, however this is usually not encouraged for many reasons, including weather or intrusion of bats and birds. Whilst the room is sometimes used during daylight hours, it is normally most functional during the night with a clear, cloudless, sky. The room is dominated by a large telescope that has been modified by Reimi Soulstar, the teacher of Technomancy & Psychoportive Sciences, to be more functional, allowing for a greater range of visibility and more clarity. It has also been created to be easy to use, allowing inexperienced astronomers to manoeuvre the device around the galaxy, or even the universe thanks to the modifications made. The room is also notorious for having a sink full of dirty coffee mugs, created by the Practical Astronomy teacher Aurora Vigilaus.

Practical Astronomy

Practical Astronomy is a curricular class taught at the Schola Draíochta. It is delivered partly in the Schola's Observatory and partly with a number of interdimensional trips to other worlds with different constellations and planetary systems. Enthusiasts of the subject are encouraged to actively research the home solar system of Odin, the planet on which the Schola is based, especially with regards to the planet Frey which has unusual abnormalities of great interest to the astronomy staff.
