Somatomancy & Anthomancy is a curricular class taught at the Schola Draíochta. It is delivered through a series of practical demonstrations, as well as more text-based theory lessons on medical practice and anatomy. The subject of Botany was once an individual subject but it was merged into Somatomancy due to their similarities and overlapping teachings. There is a significant portion of practical sessions involved with this class, both when learning about flora but also with healing sentient beings, which is done in the Infirmary often on willing subjects from Breja or unfortunate students that happened to be in the room.

Schola Prospectus Entry

"Somatomancy & Anthomancy is the study of the art of magickal healing. As well as being taught to identify various magickal flora and its properties, students will be instructed in how to use these magickal plants in order to induce healing in a patient, and will also be taught basic anatomy of some common species. This subject is assessed by a written exam and a practical test under controlled conditions."

Notable Events

In the former Somatomancy class, before the merger with Arboreal Magick, the student Igorias Galateus was forced to remove his own arm rather than be slowly eaten alive by a flesh-eating plant. Fortunately, he had a spare on standby, and was happy to do the procedure, although his fellow student Eshken Dar fainted.
