The Species Portal

The Species portal links to all of The Schola Wiki articles that are specifically about species (or races). 'Classic' refers to species that are considered 'standard' or 'mythical', such as Elves, Minotaurs or other such created material. These are species that the player has not self-created but used a template for. 'Original' refers to species that are entirely made up and fictional, unable to be found anywhere else. 'Creatures' simply refers to the, usually non-sentient, creatures that might be important enough to have their own article.

Gargoyles
Main article: Gargoyles

Gargoyles are commonly seen stone figures, often grotesque and associated with the Gothic period of Europe. However Gargoyles are also creatures seen throughout the Multiverse, often appearing with stone-like quality, slender bodies and feathered wings. The gargoyles that are native to the planet Odin and are commonly seen at the Schola Borealis take on this most-common appearance. They evolved in the Valle Della Cenere and were employed by Lysander in both the construction and future running of the Schola Borealis. Whilst their bodies have a stone-like quality, their brains too have an almost metaphorical similarity as they are capable of standing long periods of time without movement or thought. Two gargoyles in particular are fused to The Arch, quizzing those that seek to enter the Schola Borealis.

Homeworld

Odin

Odin is the third planet in the Yggdrasil-387420489-Kappa solar system. It is named after the chief Norse god, and is the planet which the Valle Dei Mondi, otherwise known as the Valley, is situated on. It is also the planet where the Schola Draíochta can be found. Much of the... continued.

Incubus and Succubus

Main article: Incubus and Succubus

Incubi and Succubi are two varieties of demons which rely on sexual contact with mortals for their power and well being. Incubi are male, and Succubi are female, generally speaking, but there have been known to be exceptions. Both species rely on seduction, sometimes one gender, sometimes both. The majority of their powers are based around the aim of seduction, and they are, as a general rule, highly attractive.

Human

Main article: Human

Humans are the most common sentient creature throughout the entire Multiverse. The human phenomenon lacks any real explanation, though there are many that would argue humans are the 'true sentients', moulded after the creator of the Multiverse itself. Although humans come in many shapes, sizes, breeds and creeds, there is also one 'sub-species' of the human branch that occurs most frequently. This branch of human is often considered 'normal', usually by these humans themselves, due to their numbers, making them the 'means' of any comparison. They usually come from a world named Earth, though the condition of this planet also changes greatly, and their most common tongue is English; which has become the universal language for many worlds across the Multiverse. This particular article refers, only, to the most common and 'normal' type of human.

Vampire

Main article: Vampire

Vampires are a common creature throughout the multiverse, although they exist in many different forms. The one defining characteristic of a vampire is that they subsist by draining the life force of others, whether this be through blood, magic, or simply heat from the body of their victim. Vampires are usually 'made' from other species by bringing a specimen to the point of death, then restoring them using the method that the vampire uses to feed. In human folklore, this is by exchange of vampire blood.

Anhum

Main Article: Anhum

Anhums are a humanoid species with two sets of insectoid wings, photosynthetic skin, and ten digits circling the palm of each hand and foot. They are naturally tough yet surprisingly flexible, and they can live off of sunlight, water, and nutrients in the soil as well as more traditional foods. Their equivalent skin tones tend to vary from tan to dark brown, and their equivalent hair colors are almost always a near-black green.

Dysmanta

Main article: Dysmanta

The Dysmanta are an arthropodian, shape-shifting race, with the ability to take over host bodies from other species and 'hybridise' with them. In their True Form they appear similar to earth arthropods. In their Hybrid Form they can be almost indistinguishable from their host species. Dysmantan society is heavily segregated, according to Caste and Type. Caste being social ranking and Type being the family of insect a particular Dysmantan belongs to.

Ethereal

Main article: Ethereal

The Ethereals are beings without a self-given signifier but are called by many names by those that encounter them, most commonly the Light or Darks and the Dreams and Nightmares. Despite this, the Ethereals are not necessary good or evil. Split into two opposing sides, the Lights have ruled over the Ethereals' homeworld for the longest part and the Darks have constantly sought to rise up again and turn The Napping Cat's Dream into The Napping Cat's Nightmare, having only succeeded once in the past. Each of the Ethereals has an orb to house their essence, however they must inhabit a vessel if they wish to remain in touch with the physical world around them. Each of them has their own unique power, as well as being incredibly fast.

Fujin

Main article: Fujin

The Fujin are a humanoid species from the planet Dagda, which they share with two other main subspecies, Ryujin and Raijin. The Fujin are very similar to the Raijin genetically, though they differ in appearance in several ways. They have tendrils, and long-pointed ears but they have no tails and their skin colours range through shades of green. They are also known to have semi-transparent skin that causes their red innards to show up in stark light. They have powers over aero magick and some psychic traits.

Lightfireans

Main Article: Lightfirean

The origin of Lightfireans rests from when an ancient race took the red-fox species from Earth, and placed them on planet Bridacia, with know natural predators they would evolve and become the dominate species of the planet, this is their appearance: From lower jaw down to inner thighs, down the chest, not around the body is white fur. From finger tips to elbows and from toe tips to knees is black fur. There is also black fur on the back of the ears and end of the tail, along with two small crescents on the muzzle. The rest of the fur is orange. Common coloring (the orange fur) varies from yellow-orange to dark red, and many Lightfireans have a passive gene for black fur.

Mani

Main article: Mani

The world of Dagda is populated by six sentient subspecies, the Raijin, Ryujin, Fujin, Svarog, Savitr and Mani. The final subspecies are amongst the most under-developed of the subspecies. The Mani are similar in aesthetics to the other subspecies of Dagda, elongated ears, hairless and a tail but their skin is pitch black with some stripes that reflect light. They are powerless, though it is speculated by Fujin scientists that the Mani once held the power of darkness.

Muovinen

Main Article: Muovinen

The Muovinen are a humanoid race from the planet Plastos who appear, at a quick glance, like "ideal" humans. They are, however, identifiable by their "plastic" quality to them. Should they not take care of their appearances, they could more closely resemble mannequins or wax figures. Their body is, in fact, composed of a plastic-like material, with the hair on their head the only part that bears closest resemblance to something 'organic' in composition. The Muovinen excel at crafting with organic life in ways humans excel at crafting with materials such as wood and metals.

Raijin

Main article: Raijin

The Raijin are a humanoid race from the planet Dagda, which they share with two other main subspecies, Ryujin and Fujin. The most distinctive features of a Raijin are the head tendrils and the large zigzag tail. The Raijin age faster than most races, a thirteen-year-old may appear more like a twenty-year-old human. They're known for their incredible speed, reflexes and ability to create electricity. A race of Raijin are also blessed with powers of the mind, such as telekinesis and teleportation.

Ryujin

Main article: Ryujin

The Ryujin are a humanoid species from the planet Dagda, which they share with two other main subspecies, Raijin and Fujin. Ryujin have long tendrils in place of head-hair and they have thick long tails to help them with balance and swimming. The Ryujin age faster than most sentient species, a thirteen-year-old may appear more like a twenty-year-old human. They live mostly in underwater cities and are suspicious of the Fujin and Raijin subspecies of Dagda.

Savitr

Main article: Savitr

The world of Dagda is populated by six sentient subspecies, the Raijin, Ryujin, Fujin, Svarog, Mani and Savitr. The final subspecies are the most under-developed of the six, roaming across the southern continent in small individual tribes that often know starvation and illness. The Savitr are similar in aesthetics to the other subspecies of Dagda, elongated ears, hairless and a tail but their skin is white and even somewhat translucent in places. They are powerless, though it is speculated by Fujin scientists that the Savitr once held the power of light.

Svarog

Main article: Svarog

The world of Dagda is populated by six sentient subspecies, the Raijin, Ryujin, Fujin, Savitr, Mani and Svarog. The final subspecies are amongst the three most under-developed of subspecies on Dagda. The Svarog are the most dissimilar of subspecies to the 'standard' Dagdan appearance. They still have the same elongated ears but they do not have the tendrils or fleshy tails; instead they have strange flames that appear like hair. They have powers over fire, able to produce and manipulate it, which comes from this strange flame-mane.
